  • Welcome to MyHolland Blog

Welcome to my little neck of the internet world.

This is my personal blog and if you're a client looking for my photography please head on over to my photography website Sierra Kristen Photography!

We currently reside in Mid-Coast Maine and have been living here our entire lives. I've been married to my soulmate, Dana (but you can call him Dane) for almost 5 years! He has a daughter, Emma, who is 7 years old and lives in Iowa. We talk webcam twice a month with her and travel to the west 1-2 times a year for visits with her. Though we're separated by miles, we still love her dearly and try to make her apart of our family up here in Maine as much as possible! Dane and I currently have a sweet little daughter together, Lila, she's pretty much the cutest, the most unique, happy, lovable, determined baby. We are blessed!

    I'm a lover of....
Christ. Photography. My family. DIY. Sewing. Dessert making. Traveling. Exploring. Painting. Cheese. Swimming. Ice Skating. My hot husband. Chocolate covered strawberries. Exercise. You got the point right?:)

Enjoy your stay and come back again!:)

“oh the sticky buns”

i found this recipe on pinterest (what else is new;) and by far the most unhealthiest, yummiest dessert known to man kind:)

i made it last week, but while reading the directions on how to make it..i messed up big time! hahaha! i, for some reason, thought that 1 C. syrup meant corn syrup! yuck. oh the small amount of blonde in me decided to crawl out while cooking these;) well come to find out they meant maple syrup. haha! so use maple syrup! i used the REAL maine maple syrup and it sure is yummy! and you probably want to know the outcome of corn syrup? well it hardend like carmel and stuck to my teeth. ew. i highly recommend NOT using that as a “syrup”.

2 small tubes refrigerator buttermilk biscuits OR 1 tube Pillsbury Grands buttermilk biscuits
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
1/2 C. syrup
1/3 C. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 C. chopped pecans, opt.
1/4 C. chopped almonds, opt.
click HERE for directions and pictures!!
i used a regular cake pan too:)
well i’m off to cuddle my family and watch gold rush! i look forward to friday evenings, just because of the show:) addicting!

waiting for daddy

just a random post of my sweet lila and i waiting for daddy to come home:)

aww man she’s so adorable lately!

why hello dark hair! holy moly it darkened up this winter, probably the darkest brunette color i’ve seen since 6th grade! typically my hair color is lila’s current light brown..stinker. i’m think maybe highlights in the future? hey at least my hair matches my huge eyebrow color:) and apparently lila inherited my pink cheeks! i completely adore lila’s fat pink cheeks..it reminds me how healthy she is! now my fat pink cheeks..i so don’t adore. HA! i cut all soda and snack foods from my diet (started cutting snacks yesterday) and i lost 3lbs in just two days! i will continue and the snacks will have to hid in my husbands work truck..out of sight, out of mind! now it’s time to gym it up:)

the hunt

a few days ago, the jackson family went out and got our first christmas tree together! it was fun:)

i, of course, decorated it. for some odd reason i have major OCD issues when it comes to decorating the tree. i usually spend a good 30 minutes alone trimming the tree. about 90% of my ornaments must match and be color coordinated evenly around the tree. the lights must be perfect and even around the tree. and i can’t stand tinsel anything..yuck! my husband i agreed that i must let go of my OCD-ness when the kids grow and want to decorate it themselves! HA! i figured i’d enjoy my last year of  the  tree being “perfect” and prepare for lila’s decorating skills next year;)can’t wait! well kind of. hehe.

here’s our adventures of tree hunting!

PT session #5

today was a bad day for lila with PT. over the past few days she’s been fussy, drooling buckets and chewing her fingers. i feel like teeth are coming soon, but no sight of any swollen gums or teeth..yet. though she was a tad bit fussy, lila did manage to do some exercising with her new friend lisa (physical therapist). lisa mentioned today that she’s finally seeing some progress, yaaay! it’s week 5 and she promised by around 6 weeks we would see the PT working. can i just say how proud i am of my sweet miss?! really! she is really working hard and has a lot of things against her. first thing is the medicine. keppra. yuck. her neurologist should be checking up with lila soon and we will start lowing the dose (considering lila is on a very high dose right now) and eventually get rid of the medication all together! it makes her sooo sleepy! she’s on nap #2 already today and it’s 1:30pm. poor thing. it’s hard to do things, when you feel exhausted all the time..and that’s what lila is battling with everyday. though i will admit, lila has been BIG seizure free for over 2 weeks now! yaay! she has had mini break throughs that lasted a minute or so..which is expected. but those 20-40 minute seizures are the yucky ones we want to eliminate! so the new medicine is finally working, praise God! anyways and the other thing working against her is missing those 11 genes in some cells in her body. you can’t even begin to imagine how those 11 genes are vital with development! but over all, lila is a strong little girl! i always say, “those who work harder for they want, will appreciate what they receive!”:)

anyways i took a few pictures for lila’s photo-album to look back on and for her daddy too! he hasn’t attended a session yet, but we plan to have him come once a month starting in january! yaay!

isn’t she so darn cute! she got to swing today!!:)

she was talking away to lisa! haha!

she loooves mirror time! she’s so interested in herself, which makes sense since she LOVES people and eye contact!

lila loved her scarf and kept playing with it! hehe!

such a big girl!
